On a budget? These essentials are necessary...and under $100!

Sometimes it's a bit hard to enjoy the benefits of working out from home when you feel like you're lacking on some of the things that can help take your work out to the next level. Especially while we're still in a pandemic which is making going out to a gym even more of a less than desirable idea.

The great thing is there are ways to get what you need and not have to break the bank in the process. In this post, we're going to highlight some good equipment picks that will give you the work out you need:

 

1. Jump Rope

Enough can't be said about the benefits to skipping rope. For an activity that seems almost juvenile it's very valuable to your overall workout(there's not too many boxers who would disagree-even if they hate it). It's works as a warm-up to get the heart pumping and blood flowing and it can also count as your cardio. 

 

2. Dumbbells

Don't fret ladies: Believe it or not there are some amazing rewards to lifting weights. Besides things such as gaining strength without bulking up and improving your athletic performance, weight training can be beneficial in reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes. If you're a bit hesitant to pump some iron but still want the lifting perks- that's perfectly fine! You can start out nice and easy with some resistance bands (with handles) or yoga bands (without handles). They come in different weight categories and are easy to bring with when traveling. 

 

3. Yoga Block

While they look fairly innocuous they are a must have. Yoga blocks can help with:

  • Maintaining Proper Alignment of Your Arms and Shoulders
  • Releasing Tight Hips in Seated Postures
  • Providing extra support
  • Help Moving Into Advanced Postures

Some manufacturers sometimes even provide some additional amenities such as a pilates bar or a strap that will assist with more advanced poses. 

 

And there you have it. Long as you have the space and the desire, you can have the advantages of the gym at home with no contracts involved and the equipment is always ready and waiting for you. It's a win/win!
